About Real Deal Athletix

  • Real Deal Athletix is an athletic performance training program. We specialize in sports performance for various sports, quarterback development training, and recovery. We believe in developing well-rounded athletes, on and off the field. 

  • Ryan Deal is the founder of Real Deal Athletix.

  • Coach Ryan has 4 years of professional quarterback experience. Since retiring from his professional career, coach Ryan has dedicated his life to developing youth athletes in Maryland. He is a NASM Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist, and a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Maryland. 

  • We have several locations that we train our athletes. Annapolis, Leonardtown, and Owings, MD are our home bases for training. We operate in Anne Arundel County, Calvert County, and St. Mary’s County.

  • We train a wide range of athletes in our programs. Youth athletes, with various skill and experience levels, all the way up to College scholarship athletes! We meet our athletes where they are, and adapt their programming to their specific needs/demands of their sport. 

  • Real Deal Athletix puts a strong emphasis on training environment in our group sessions. We believe that athletes learn and develop best when they are in a positive, encouraging, and competitive environment. We focus on a constraints-led-approach to learning and developing new skills. 

  • We value mental, physical and emotional development for our athletes. Athletes that train with us often see a huge difference in their confidence, which leads to a great deal of success in their sport and in their lives!

  • Yes! Our quarterback training is run by Coach Ryan, who has college and professional playing and coaching experience. We train quarterbacks from 8 years old, to professionals. 

  • Yes! We provide performance training for athletes of various sports. We focus on movement capacity, strength, speed, agility, and power with all of our athletes, regardless of their sport. 

  • Yes, private coaching is available for quarterback training and athletic performance training. 

  • Our small group athletic performance training is a fun, competitive environment where athletes of all different sports come together to develop many athletic qualities to be successful in their sport of choice. Our group sessions involve mobility, teamwork, play-based agility, constraint-led-approach speed, strength & power, and much more.

  • Athletic Performance team training- focuses on team bonding through hard work! We tailor our team performance training sessions to the direct needs of the team and their athletes. 

    Quarterback team training/consulting- we focus on the development of the team’s quarterbacks in their specific system. We help with defensive recognition, decision-making, accuracy, understanding offensive concepts, and leadership skills. 

  • Yes, we train youth, high school, college, and professional athletes!

  • We first get to know who the athlete is, what makes them tick, what motivates them, and what their specific goals are. We then provide the environment and high-level instruction to meet the athletes where they are, and help guide them to where they want to go! 

Results & Experience

  • Improved confidence, more efficient movement qualities, and being an overall faster, stronger, more powerful athlete! 

  • Athletes (especially youth) are all on their own timelines. We don’t guarantee quick fixes or overnight results. The athletes that benefit the most from our training are dedicated, consistent, and hard-working! 

  • We prepare their body physically, mentally, and emotionally. The more resilient the muscles are, the more ready athletes are to perform at a high level, and they are more likely to stay injury-free. We teach breathing techniques, and mental strategies to help athletes remain calm on game day. 

  • Yes! We work with many current college athletes playing at Ohio, Towson, Charleston, Frostburg, Shenandoah, Delaware Valley, just to name a few! 

  • Great for beginners! Our small group sessions give our beginner athletes some friendly competition to look up to. We always meet the athletes where they are in their skill/ development journey.

  • Parents and athletes love the noticeable differences in confidence & physical development, and they enjoy the ability to be themselves in training. Athletes enjoy the less-pressure but high intensity environment that is different than they typically get in their practices with their sport.

  • We operate most of our athletic performance training at Fit U in Leonardtown: 22630 Gregory Ln. Leonardtown MD 20650 

  • Yes, we train in Annapolis, Owings, Leonardtown, and their surrounding areas.

  • Positive mindset, shoes and cleats, workout clothes, and water

  • Hours vary based on season. But we typically have some training offered 7 days a week!

  • Yes, we do offer in-home and off-site training in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties per request. 

Parents & Athletes

  • Athletes over the age of 8 looking to improve speed, agility, power, and other athletic performance qualities can join our small group performance training sessions year-round. 

    Quarterbacks over the age of 8, with little or no experience, should begin with private quarterback training. Quarterbacks over the age of 8, with prior experience, can join our group quarterback training sessions.

  • Yes! We work with athletes 8 years old and above. We prioritize the safety and health of our athletes during our training sessions. 

  • Yes! We offer training year-round for sports performance and quarterback training

  • We hold our athletes accountable, keep them focused on their long-term goals, and provide them an environment to talk with our coaches and fellow athletes about any struggles they might be having.

  • We believe confidence and leadership is developed through proper preparation and consistent effort. By providing a consistent training environment, we see our athletes naturally develop stronger leadership skills, gain more confidence around other athletes, and perform at higher levels. Encouraging environments leads to exceptional results!

Philosophy & Approach

  • We believe in developing the holistic or well-rounded athlete. Our athletes are humans first! So we treat all of our athletes with respect, hold them to high standards, and encourage them to reach for their goals. Physically, we believe in the power of movement quality. We have found that athletes perform better when they are exposed to many different ways of moving. Exploration in themselves is a key factor in our training philosophy. 

  • Physical and mental training are intertwined. We make sure athletes understand the importance of mental training for performance. A strong body must be complimented by a strong mind.

  • Holistic development means taking the long-term approach. We don’t want our athletes fixated on an overnight success approach. We teach our athletes to trust the process, and enjoy everything along the way. We make sure to emphasize that our athletes are worth more than just their performance on the field or their athletic abilities. We strive to teach life lessons that they can carry on with them when their sport career is over.

  • Acupuncture is now a part of the Real Deal Athletix repertoire. Acupuncture is a great medicine used to help athletes recover from injuries and return to play with the confidence that they can remain healthy!

  • Standard gym workouts typically only focus on muscle growth and do not emphasize athletic performance qualities. There’s a HUGE difference between general fitness/strength and performance. Movement variability, speed, power, reaction time, working around other athletes, game-speed, real-life agility (not dancing around cones), are some of the things you can expect here at Real Deal Athletix. Our training environment brings dedicated athletes together to work toward their goals, improve their weaknesses, and showcase their strengths. Not something you can get at your typical gym!
